Klara is very much an internationalist. Born, raised and educated in Canada, she relocated with her husband to Asia from the USA in 2001, speaking not a word of Chinese (which she has subsequently learnt). She has lived since then in Taiwan, working for Hong Kong-based companies.
Her professional background has been in marketing and financial services. Working originally for the now-defunct Lehman Brothers, she moved on to Sumitomo Bank before becoming marketing manager with an international law firm. Her duties ranged across the corporate sphere of the firm, from targeting and cross-selling to key clients, to website development.
In recent years, Klara has focused on raising her two children. ‘And,’ she tells us, ‘since moving to Taiwan, we have moved five times. So I am pretty knowledgeable on the intricacies of moving. I have gained a lot of knowledge into the local lifestyle and am also familiar with the local schools’
Although the mysteries of China are myriad, Klara has first-hand knowledge and is looking forward to guiding you through your first steps in the lovely city of Taipei.
