Lisa has found herself becoming an intrepid Asian explorer in recent years. ‘In July 2003 I moved to Singapore from Sydney with my husband and our 2 children,’ she tells us, ‘and have been lucky enough to live since in a semi-detached house in the Bukit Timah area.’
But relocation was just a launchpad for Lisa to get to know the region, and she has traveled extensively, equipping herself with a Singapore driving license and sharing experiences with fellow expatriates in the international clubs, schools and volunteer organizations. Her wide network and experience of moving to Singapore has led to her giving invaluable help to other relocating executives and families since assuming her role as a destination consultant.
‘This city is fabulously organized,’ she tells us, ‘but it can be very difficult to find good accommodation within budget because prices change fast. You need a good route into the housing market and, if you bring children, good schools advice.’
