Hong Kong Destination Consultant

Wendy was born and raised in the USA, where she grew up in Cajun country (south Louisiana). She lived and worked both in the New York/New Jersey area as well as Florida before moving to Hong Kong in 2007. She now lives in the New Territories.
Professionally, much of her early career was taken up with technology. She was a programmer analyst, network administrator and project team leader for several Wall Street companies. She has also worked with various clients providing custom solutions and writing technical reviews for PC Magazine. For most of her life she has also been very involved in the arts--primarily theater--acting, directing and teaching. Since her arrival in Hong Kong she has taught English through drama and has already performed in several theater productions.
‘Hong Kong is an amazing city that tends to capture your imagination,’ she says. ‘There is so much to see and experience here that it never gets old. Whatever you are interested in doing…whether it be sports, the arts, beaches, dining or shopping…you can find it here. It’s also a great travel base for exploring the rest of Asia. While it is quite a different culture from what Westerners are used to -- it is incredibly crowded and full of strange foods (and smells…wait until you experience your first wet market!), it is also a very welcoming place filled with people that make you quickly feel at home.’
She looks forward to introducing you to the city that she‘s come to love – not just the best places to live, the best ways to arrange transport, cell phones, or domestic help, but also the eating places with the best views or the best food, where to catch music or theatre, and what to be aware of socially and professionally as you connect with both locals and other expats.
