YourGuide Destination Consultant
Meredith has a proud background. As well as graduating from one of the most English of England’s prestigious public schools – Wellington College, in the lush green fields of Berkshire – her name also betrays a rich ancestry: Meredith, with Welsh roots (meaning ‘sea traveller’), and Hourican from the Irish ‘O’hAirgain’, one of the oldest families in southern Ireland.
In fact, she is a truly modern, global professional. She has lived and worked in international and corporate environments since reaching adulthood. She is bilingual in French and English, and lived as a relocating partner with her spouse in Switzerland, where she holds work rights.
Meredith worked at the cutting edge of business: project managing premises' moves for a leading London fashion firm, working as PA to the directors of an agency specialising in the drinks, gaming and technology sectors. She joined Going-there as a destination consultant specifically to reduce the stress of arrival for newcomers to Geneva. ‘Geneva is special challenge,’ she tells us, ‘with so many local regulations, you need expert help to get a footing in the city.’
Meredith knows all the ins-and-outs of finding homes, schools and healthcare in Switzerland. And if you’re a relocating partner, she knows the system inside-out for getting yourself networked and busy with work. ‘Geneva is one of Europe’s most beautiful cities, small, with a glorious lakeside. I look forward to helping you make a painless transition.’
